Global Accessibility Awareness Day

The 8th Annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is coming up on May 16th! Are you aware of the challenges people with disabilities face when using technology?

According to the CDC, 1 in 4 US adults live with a disability.

It all started when a blog post written by Joe Devon in 2011 grabbed the attention of an accessibility professional, Jennison Asuncion. The post was about dedicating a day to accessibility awareness and challenging developers to seek out knowledge on what it takes to make sites accessible. After reading the post, Jennison contacted Joe and they joined forces to make the idea a reality.

Digital accessibility removes the barriers encountered when accessing online content. Plus, inclusive design benefits everyone, not just people with disabilities. Participate in GAAD by taking an hour to experience first-hand the impact of digital accessibility.
